5 Tips For Visiting the Blue Lagoon

1. Book in advance

In order to reserve a spot at the Blue Lagoon you now have to book online. Spots fill up fast and they will not let you in if you show up without a reserved spot. The best times to go would either be early in the morning or late at night when the crowds settle down.

Book here.

2. Don't put your hair in the water

The minerals in the water are actually terrible for your hair and will strip your hair of moisture for weeks. The best way to avoid this is to put your hair in a bun with a hair mask in it and leave it there while you are swimming around.

3. Be on the lookout for the free body scrub

There is typically someone walking around the water with a bowl of body scrub that is an awesome free perk many don't know to look for.

4. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize...

Seriously...after you get out lather your body in lotion. My skin was super dry after and needed tons of hydration.

5. Save the Blue Lagoon for your last stop

The best tip I can give you is to save the blue lagoon for your last stop before the airport, especially if you are camping. It is a great place to get clean, shower and relax after a week of sleeping in a car or tent. It also allows you to take full advantage of the facilities without the feeling of needing to get back on the road. You can easily camp nearby and it is only about 20 minutes from the airport.
