Less of a New Years resolution & more of a life change

Let's call it a Life Change.

The annual New Years celebration has come and gone, but one thing that has always bothered me about New Years is the concept of a New Years resolution, a fresh start, a time to make all those life changes you have always wanted to make. Well...if you ask me, why are you waiting until New Years to make those changes? Why can't you just wake up any day of the entire year [or any day of your entire life] and make a commitment to yourself that you are going to make a change for the better? That is how I see life anyways.

Also, the whole idea of drastic life changes is never going to happen overnight. Start small, do something 3 times a week or even once a week. Then once you feel good with that keep adding on until you have reached your ultimate goal. This will not only help you reach your end goal, but it will also become part of your routine.

My Resolution Advice:

  1. Start small. Don't go big and go home if you really want this change to be something that sticks. You want to take baby steps into it and make it part of your normal routine, eventually reaching your larger goal.

  2. Talk about it! I know this one sounds silly but talk to your friends about the change you want to make. The more you feel people are expecting to see a change, the more you are going to put pressure on yourself to actually complete the goal.

  3. Have fun! Seriously, as much as it is so good to make life changes, your main goal in life should be having a good time.

So now that you have a road map on how to attain to your goals, here are a few of mine!

My [not so] New Years Resolutions include:

  1. Saying YES! One of my biggest faults is being indecisive. If you know me, then you understand this one very well. It takes me a while to actually say yes, so my LIFE CHANGE [not resolution] is to say yes if someone asks me to do something and commit.

  2. Don't stress about the little things.

  3. Spend more time doing what I love including doing photography, running, etc.

  4. Do something completely out of my comfort zone once a month.

  5. Cook at least one new recipe once a month.
